How do virtual cooking classes work?
If you have used Skype or FaceTime, or attended a live webinar, our classes feel similar to that format. Classes are broadcasted through your computer, tablet, or mobile phone providing plenty of opportunities to ask questions, correct mistakes, and interact with your instructor and fellow chefs. After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email detailing the ingredients needed, preparation tips, and simple instructions on how and when to access your class. A wine, beer, or cocktail pairing option may also be suggested should your class fall on an evening or weekend 🙂
Will I need to factor in prep time?
Yes. In your confirmation email, you will receive a list of ingredients and simple setup suggestions. We strive to make this process as seamless as possible, and recommend dedicating about 5-10 minutes to setup yourself up before class begins.
What can I expect from class?
Classes are typically 30-60 minutes for virtual classes and 1-2 hours for local classes. Each option begins with a brief introduction and meet + greet. For the remainder of the time, we’ll create our meal with time for asking questions allotted throughout. Classes are designed for all skill levels (unless otherwise noted) allowing plenty of opportunities to build confidence in your home cooking skills.
What size are the classes?
We prefer quality over quantity; therefore, classes are usually limited to 10 people. Classes that require more attention to technique may max out at 6 people.
What is class pricing?
For virtual classes, pricing is $15 per person or $25 per household (or if you have more than one person attending the class from your home) and $35 for local classes. There is no limit on number of people in your household that can attend, but if there is more than three we kindly request that you have a “spokesperson” for the group.
Where are you located?
Our teaching kitchen is at COCO Crafted in downtown Colorado Springs. We also routinely do on-site demos, classes, and private parties for birthdays, girls/guys night out, bachelorette parties, showers, team building events, etc.
Are classes limited to those on your website?
Definitely not! If there is a class you would like to add, contact us, and we will add it to the list of future classes.
What is your cancellation policy?
Classes and gift certificates are non-refundable. Please think of this as buying a ticket for a show as we have limited seats available and have to turn away customers from sold out classes. However, if you find yourself unable to attend, you have some options:
- Request access to video on demand and watch the class at your own convenience
- Transfer your credit to a future class
- Forward your access details to a friend or family member to fill your spot
